Autism is like algebra – Math is hard + so is Autism.
A math teacher I once had told me that it’s not about how much you know, it’s about how you act when you don’t know.
When I was a student learning algebra I often wondered why I would need to learn it. How would I ever use this in my life? But I see now that it taught me perseverance, envisioning solutions, planning ahead, interpreting information, to learn from mistakes, discover patterns, and think critically.
It also taught me that every problem has a solution, and if there is no solution it’s not a problem to be solved, but a truth to be accepted.
Autism is also a lot like algebra, when rightly viewed not only possesses truth, but supreme beauty.
